About me: The Black Hills Regional Eye Institute Laser Center is lead by Dr. Paul Zimmerman. Dr. Zimmerman is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive surgery, uveitis and cataract surgery.
He is the only surgeon performing iLASIK in the Black Hills region. iLASIK is the first and only procedure approved for top military pilots and astronauts. Dr. Zimmerman is dedicated to personally caring for patients throughout the preoperative, surgical and postoperative experience and he loves to teach other doctors and medical students.
In addition to being the most experienced refractive surgeon in the area, he has an active cataract and uveitis practice. Also, he is a refractive surgery patient himself, having had Conductive Keratoplasty in 2003. He also participates in clinical research studies with the other ophthalmologists at the Eye Institute.
Outside of his rewarding profession, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys golf, tennis, hunting, and spending time with his family.
