Black Hole is a quartet which moves along the pathway of a modern jazz in which the rhythmic and harmonic interplay among the musicians is always in movement and evolution, following the stream of improvisation, and in which the presence of electric guitar and bass, together with Tiziano Tononi's drumming, gives a particularly powerful impulse of sound and timbre.
In Black Hole , on guitar, Walter Donatiello; director of "CEMM" music school in Bussero (Milan, Italy), has in his career collaborations with Gerry Mulligan, Joe Diorio, Steve Lacy, Giulio Capiozzo among others, and he is a stable member of bassist Giovanni Tommaso's groups.
On tenor sax and drums, respectively, Daniele Cavallanti and Tiziano Tononi, leaders of the historical band "Nexus" and members of the celebrated " Italian Instabile Orchestra". The two musicians, both with Nexus and I.I.O., made concerts in all Europe, Canada, USA and Japan, and during common and parallel careers recorded tens of CDs and collaborations with Cecil Taylor, Roswell Rudd, Dewey Redman, Mark Dresser, Herb Robertson, Glenn Ferris, Nels Cline, William Parker, Andrew Cyrille, Elliot Sharp, Maggie Nicols, Evan Parker, Keith Tippett, Barre Phillips, Muhal Richard Abrams, Leroy Jenkins, Oliver Lake, Evan Parker, Paul Lytton, Stewart Copeland, Willem Breuker, Michel Godard, Jerry Granelli, Dave Liebman, Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Giorgio Gaslini.
Michelangelo Flammia completes the group, young "virtuoso" of the electric bass; holder of the study course of this instrument at the CEMM music school, in his curriculum he has didactic and professional involvements with Giovanni Tommaso, Steve Lacy, Claudio Fasoli, David Friesen, John Zorn, Marcus Miller, Bobby Previte, Marc Ducret, Eric Echampard, Bruno Chevillon.
