About me: Michelle Marie Clarke-Campbell, Author, Spoken Word Artist, Librarian, and Songwriter, is inspired by nature, music, and children. At age 18, she recorded her first release (Stonecold Mother on a Pedal-Stool) on the Kumina Album. She has recorded and toured with Debbie Malone, worked in New York as a freelance writer, and is an editor at Young Gifted Writers' Press. Michelle has a degree in Literature and History and also currently works for the University of East London as a Librarian. Michelle is a published author, she organises African History Events, poetry shows, and spoken word and open mic functions, and teaches poetry and leads workshops for children aged 7-11 in London primary schools, and at the University of East London's Library and Learning Centre. She has a Masters in Media Studies and is a visiting lecturer at Barking Learning Centre, giving classes in performance poetry. Michelle was a semi finalist in the 2007 UK poetry slam championship and she still performs her poems regularly in the UK.
