In November `98 , after months of talking , Black Magic Rhythm got together to play for the first time. Made up of Cincinnati music scene vets from AMF , Middlemarch , Bad Assumption , and all at one time or another were members of Bu Bu Klan . On March 25th 1999 at Ripley's Alive, the first test of if it would work took place . It worked ! The experiment combined music BMR was into - from rap ,rock , jazz , techno , you name it - into something new , using live drums and bass , with synth , samples , and turntables to do so. In January 2000, they added guitar to the mix. And are not counting out more additions. Over the last few years BMR have been playing the local original music clubs in Cincinnati regularly. They have also released a 4 song demo recorded and produced on their own, and a full length CD titled The Lost Art of the Rhythm Daredevil .
In 2002 Black Magic Rhythm started revamping things. With the additon of King Don , the Black Magic sound has become even bigger! 2003 has seen a growth in the band and their fans and thus will contiue in 2004 & beyond.
Black Magic Rhythm released their long awaited self titled CD on October 15, 2004. Unfortunately Black Magic Rhythm disbanded in March of 2005. Below are all the recordings with the exception of the first EP without Stringy D, which will be posted soon.
