Our Band is huge in numbers, mainly because the crafty buggers think that if they play summat they can get out of dancing, so from a humble concertina and Banjo player, it's turned into something like this
John on Tenor & 5 string Banjo RU Seerius on 5 string Banjo Von on Melodeon, Concertina,Fife and Recorders Chris on Melodeon,Guitar Gill on Concertina Dr. Pig on Guitar and Concertina Jethro on Mandolin Kev on Mandolin and Didg Theresa on Flute and Recorder Marian on Recorder and Clarinet Cat on Flute Dave on Guitar Ruth on Fiddle Pash on Fiddle Rob on Melodeon and Gob Iron Craig on Jews Harp and Lagerphone And the numerous other percussion players and anyone else we've missed off the list

BEER AND NAKED MORRIS DANCING
Here's a few of our members who dared to bare....
Sounds Like
A mix of traditional Morris/Folk, Burlesque,
Classical, Techno and Soundscapes
The Black Pig Band has expanded over the years from one humble concertina player to Melodeons,Concertinas, Banjos,Mandolins,Guitars,Flutes,Violins,Drums and Percussion section. We even have a Didj player.
Most of the band members also dance with the exception of our Squire John who has two left feet.
We produced our first CD Roll A Ferret For Jesus (don't ask) also affectionately known as RAFFJ in 2003. This consisted of all the tunes we used for our dancing and practice sessions. It was conceived by the crafty musicians who thought that if the dancers could practice to a CD of tunes, then they could have more drink and smoko time.
Our second CD, Three Sheets to The Wind was finally finished in 2006 much to the relief of Paul Asher from Motagator Recordings as it took us nearly a year of buggering about before we were happy.
Both CD's have excellent remix tracks done by a great bloke called Martyn Bloor who is an absolute star.
As one of our dancers recently commented in the Guestbook of our Website -
"Finally getting the hang of this internet thingy, been hardcore trancing to Duck Wrap - Librarian not happy"
Thanks for adding me. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face in Norwich today watching all the morris teams. It was the best treat in years. Don't think you were there... they all had clothes on. Happy Summer, Jo. X
Thanks for adding us, love your page! Loads of teams of morris dancers danced through Norwich today, and everyone was smiling, what more can you ask. The sun wasn't shining, but it might as well have been. Cheers from all at The Cidershed, Norwich.

2 of 230, walkaboutsverse.741.com: WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

230 of 230, walkaboutsverse.741.com: AS GOSPELLERS HAVE SAID/CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith’s the star that we glance Attending Christ’s churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
Ardent raise the sticks to crack so beat the drum and blow the horn, arm the fiddle shrill the whistle squire a shout around they go. Raise a jug behold the Morris raise a jug and sport a jig, raise a jug for sun and moon kiss ‘pon the earth their lovers bed. From the blossom to the ripe fruit Teazers dance and on we go, from the fruit until the first shoot of the leaf from tree does show. Raise a jug behold the Morris raise a jug and sport a jig, raise a jug for sun and moon kiss ‘pon the earth their lovers bed. Tatters bright and spin the seasons Bavain grin a dance his own, round and through the set he weavers fooling all with what fools know. Raise a jug behold the Morris raise a jug and sport a jig, raise a jug for sun and moon kiss ‘pon the earth their lovers bed. Obby Oss a prance a gambol rearing up and bows down low, Plough Jack sword a thrust pentangle maiden smile the Green man grows. Raise a jug behold the Morris raise a jug and sport a jig, raise a jug for sun and moon kiss ‘pon the earth their lovers bed.
Many merry thanks, really enjoying your sounds and dance, Fleas
