*AMPS 11*
Brace yourself. If you like the very heavy, high-speed, and the insane, then you're going to love Black Ritual. They have a sound that instantly creates hardcore thrasher paradise. They sound like "the boogieman getting high on evil."
Formed in 2004 this beast of a band from Charlotte has risen to be one of the top metal acts in the Carolinas. With enormous stage presence, raw vigor, and a loud in-your-face sound they deliver a true hardcore experience. Black Ritual will be at Amos Southend, May 31st celebrating their CD release party far a "must see" metal show.

*CREATIVE LOAFING*
Black Ritual has been grinding out an unholy melange of thrash, hardcore and metal for a couple of years. With loads of Rat-a-tat guitars, throat lacerating vocals, and booming rhythm, the boys can scrap with the best headbangers out there.

*Loucifer Speaks*
Black Ritual are another band that fell into my music collection... and they're another band that I've become unhealthily obsessed with.
The first song that really got me hooked on this band is "Terrified" (the fourth track on this album) and I became instantly addicted to it... that addiction became more intense when the Black Ritual guys let me feature it on one of the Loucifer Speaks Podcasts.
Before I was able to give this album a full and "proper" listen I was concerned that Black Ritual wouldn't be able to match the level of quality reached on "Terrified"... but the truth is that they have... and turned it up a notch!
"1000 Yard Stare" is full to the brim with face melting metal, and it's because of this that I long for the band to do a UK tour... perhaps one that has more than one London date... perhaps they could play in my living room. Anyway, that's another hints for now.
I've written quite a lot already, but I've still not got to the real nitty gritty - the actual music. To give you some idea what the music is like here, just imagine a strange drunken party where Pantera, Lamb of God and Sol Asunder all decided to jam together and you'd have some idea of what to expect from this album. It's melodic, yet gritty.
Black Ritual are able to do full on, in your face tracks (such as "Below Zero, "Terrified" and the title track) and more thought-provoking tracks (eg; "These Pills", "War Within" and "Arbitrary") with equal amounts of passion and technical wizardry.
Black Ritual... What can we say? We are a metal band from Charlotte N.C. We exhibit a driving force to bring a good quality as well as original sound to the masses. While showcasing our own southern metal sound, we are never afraid to write how we feel and put music in your face that will make you move, want to party and break whatever stands in your way! We bring hardcore combined with melody and fast paced, aggressive thrash metal. We are constantly writing new material and striving to improve ourselves and our music.
After numerous line up changes (enough to break a band up) the four members as of now, refuse to give up and will continue to make the decisions necessary to keep what we love alive and what we love is Black Ritual! The brotherhood of Black Ritual is a way of life for us and has been for five years now. We love nothing more than playing live and hanging with our fans while gaining new fans along the way! We have headlined in establishments such as Amos' South End and Tremont Music Hall. It is safe to say that we have made our mark on these well known and historic Charlotte Clubs.
We love to travel and perform all over the Carolinas and surrounding states. Black Ritual comes with new and innovative guitars and bass, smashing drums with a power groove that will make most mosh pits end up with broken bones and blood and vocals to die for. The intensity of Black Ritual's vocals is pure demon, pure real life, pure American southern screaming and deep growls that will make most people run scared in a frantic search for cover. All members of Black Ritual are seasoned musicians who have been on the metal scene for twelve years or more. The members of BR have played in bands such as The Sluggs (Gary), NVain (E-Rock), Chizelface (Rick) and Regiment (Chuck) along with many other bands throughout our careers as musicians.
Black Ritual isn't going anywhere until we have decided that we have put forth mass quantities of quality music and conquered the world....and that is a long time for us to be rockin out, so come join us on this crazy ride we call our lives and enjoy the party, the music and the friendships. We guarantee that all you need to do is come to one live show and you will come back for more, that is a promise to the metal world and all metal heads with their horns held high and their heads banging on the stage.
