Roy 'Dj Abel' has been a dj/producer for over 12 years. Back in '95 he began hosting skateboard and breakdance competitions.
Reaching Vancity in 1999, with his strong background in drumming, started a turntablist weekly jam event, and began to compete at dmc and itf international level battle events.
He was a guest dj at many Vancouver Area music events from Jazz Festival, Shambhala, Slam City Jam, Telus Big Air in Whistler and Ska festival in Victoria, to Under Pressure in Montreal and Caribanna in Toronto.
Also reaching other international destinations such as Seattle, SanFrancisco, and Guatemala City to name a few.
He has performed alongside such talent as Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Gregory Isaacs, Zion I, Mikey Dangerous, Roc Raida, and many others.

Besides other regular special events, he is presently playing weekly in Vancouver's nightclub scene - Republic(mondays) and Waldorf(fridays), and touring abroad (victoria, caribana tdot, and underpressure mtl summer '09).
