Mid 15th century Europe experienced a surge of creativity like never before seen. There was a high level of energy in writing, music, poetry and painting that promoted open expression and free thought. Many artists appeared to be developing a level of spiritual and intellectual consciousness, which allowed them to reach beyond conformed thinking and to tap into a supra conscious state.
It is described that during this period, the gates of heaven opened and inspired.
This time of beauty and inspiration was to be short lived. Fearful that this creative movement was drawing society from conformed religious beliefs, and developing a pagan following, the church made a decision to put an end to it. Over a some 10-15 year period thousands of these artists mysteriously disappeared along with their works ending this inspired quest for artistic freedom.
With the exception of folk lore and legend this period and its artists are all but forgotten. There are stories told that the souls of these individuals refused entry into heaven and chose to exist in a dimension between heaven and earth, a middle “heaven” where spirits exist in harmony. They exist amongst us continuing to create and inspire musicians, poets, writers and artists, with a sense of beauty, light and wisdom.
Legend has a name for this society of spirits, they are known as The Black Souls or those who inspire light in darkness.
