Hello, Andee here. I'm writing this bio myself and will therefore spare you the pretense of third-person perspective.
I've been making music under the BLACK SUGAR TRANSMISSION banner since late 2006, after my last band pOp*stAr*kiDs (aka P*S*K) split up. During that time I've released a full-length CD, an e.p., and have posted over 60 new songs on this here page.
In late 2008, I finally turned this thing into a real *live band* after enlisting the mega-talents of Matt Farley and Devlin Goldberg. Since the three of us have been playing live, it has become clear that the dancier, more beat-driven material shines the brightest onstage, and is the most fun to play, so that's where we're steering things. The shows have been a blast.
Our new e.p., Use It, which features six scorching new Black Sugar Transmission tracks and guest musicians such as Dug Pinnick (King's X), Patti Rothberg, Acey Slade (Murderdolls, Dope) and the unstoppable Vernon Reid (Living Colour), is now available right here (see above)!
If I may put forward a slice of personal philosophy. There's nothing more important to me than writing great songs and being onstage kicking people's asses with music I stand behind with my whole being. Total personal expression is paramount. If you ask me, musicians (and artists in general) who aren't pouring themselves into something they believe in 1000% are wasting their time and squandering their talent, full stop.
There's so much mediocre and/or shitty music/art/television, etc in our lives...if you know you've got something better to offer to the world, then do everything you can to PUT IT THE F*CK OUT THERE! Don't be a part of the problem!
