Blacksuit Joker was formed in 2006. Vocalist, Clay Parris, and bassist, Bryan Alford, met in high school and decided to start a band after several of their separate previous ones fell through. Blacksuit Joker began as a horrorpunk band, practicing and writing songs in Bryan's basement. In 2007 drummer, Zacky McCullum, joined the band, having experience from playing in previous rock bands with Bryan. After having several line up changes, guitarist, Danny Sorrow, joined the band at the young age of 14, and the dye was cast.
Though starting as a horrorpunk band in Bryan's basement, the band has matured musically since and so has thier subject matter. Blurring the lines between horrorpunk, indie, and rock the band offers a brand new sound to the metro area. Songs of life, romance, and spirituality are presented in a poetic and theatrical style, all tied in with a love for Halloween. Though garbed in darkness, BsJ presents themselves as a positive band with messages of hope and love.
The band broke up in June of 2008 due to time and money constraints, and artistic differences.
