About me: JONATHAN LOUIS LEWIS (director)
Jonathan Louis Lewis born January 27th 1984 has always been involved in the creative arts. Lewis has written many shorts and screenplays throughout his life.
Louis Lewis first came onto the filmmaking scene in 2003 with his numerous shorts and series of successful montages including: “Time to Go”, “Lost Little Girl”, “The Big Chase”, and “The Monster”. Throughout the year Lewis continued to write, direct and produce his own films. He stayed busy while working as a videographer and filming various public and private ceremonies and events. In the fall of 2004 Jon Lewis along with two college friends, Anthony Montez and Frank Sarinara gave birth to The Black Sunday Film Club. Holding shows every Sunday night, The Black Sunday Film Club hit over night success immediately. Within no time the film club became the number one event on the entire Menlo College Campus. The Black Sunday Film Club was unstoppable and becoming larger with each passing week. Along with running the film club, Jon Lewis was in the genesis of writing his first feature film.
During the winter weeks of 2004, Louis Lewis wrote the screenplay for his first feature film called, “Campus Terror: A Montage of Murder”. The film began production in spring 2004 and was a rocky project. The film was a struggle due to the lead actress quitting, but everyone eventually got back on track and completed “Campus Terror”. The film was a disappointment to Lewis as it didn’t turn out the way he envisioned it. The film is said to be a bittersweet success for Lewis, though the vision was off, the film was created, well crafted a good learning experience. In spring of 2005 Lewis took on a new endeavor. With the success of the film club Lewis decided to take the famous club to a new level. Lewis began organizing and planning the Black Sunday Film Festival. The festival took months and months of planning and at the end was a wonderful event. The Black Sunday Film Club had reached an all new high. The club screened around 8 big name films right on the Menlo College Campus. The big finale included a screening of Rob Zombie’s film “House of 1000 Corpses”. The festival also had special appearances from guest speakers of the stars “House of 1000 Corpses”.
The film festival brought Jon Lewis and the Black Sunday name to the forefront. This got him excited and motivated to continue making films. Next on Lewis’ list was a ten minute short called, “The Dream Audition” starring Adam Montez the lead guitarist from NothingLeft. Around the same time Menlo College awarded and recognized Jon Lewis for his accomplishments with being the President of Black Sunday Film Club and for service to the Menlo College Live Learn Community in 2005-2006 Academic Year. This set the wheels in motion for his next film which is his latest and greatest accomplishment. “The Telephone” started in the spring of 2006. It was a great success and showed Lewis that he could make a very good well crafted movie. The film got into the New York Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles. It also appeared at the Hollywood HD/DV Film Festival and won best picture at the Menlo College Oakies Awards in 2007. Jon Lewis is currently working on a film with his brother and continues to push the envelope in terms of his success. His latest project consists of a feature film. Louis Lewis is writing an Exploitation Genre film. It is expected to be released in late 2008.
THE COMPOSER DOCION- COMPOSED THE TELEPHONE SCORE SAYS:
In the original score for "The Telephone"... The keen listener should notice some nods to a variety of composers I have admired from the last 4 decades of Italian cinema including Morricone, Ortolani, Goblin/Simonetti, and Blonksteiner. Jon's pic is a warm tribute to not only Bava, but the whole of this type of cinema. I hope my contribution shares that quality. Thanks, Louis Lewis. -Docion
THE TELEPHONE MOVIE TRAILER!
..
I'm currently just an aspiring filmmaker that is the president of the Black Sunday Films. I turn Black Sunday Film Club into Black Sunday Films. In order to focus on the production of making our own films. So far I have made "Campus Terror" (which has not been release) & The latest film is "The Telephone" which has been in three festivals and is on IndieFlix.com! Including our Black Sunday Film Fest. We are approaching the third annual film festival at the beginning of 2007. All in all I'm a young filmmaker that works with my brother Shawn Lewis from Rotten Cotton on the side at conventions and shows.
Who I'd like to meet: young actors and actresses that want to make some quality films. I am interested in talking to anyone involved in the film area...
