About me: >
Black Victory was founded and based in New Orleans, Louisiana June 2005 by Piggy D (Matt Montgomery). It began as a labor of love creating denim jackets and pants for friends and other musicians but soon found a strong foothold as the client base began to grow.
As the business began to prosper Hurricane Katrina hit. It was a defining moment that quickly shaped the young company into what it is today. New significance was found in the imagery of the original designs after the devastation became painfully apparent in New Orleans. Piggy D were forced to leave the city that had become his home and consider what the future might hold for Black Victory.
Relocating to Los Angeles he took the time to re-vamp some of the original ideas as well as add his own twist to the "rock and roll" clothing by creating a line of shirts; all hand distressed, dyed and screened. The response was stunning and he was back in business.
After settling down in Downtown Los Angeles and reflecting on his recent experiences Piggy D decided that it was imperative to give something back to the city that has been the birthplace of Black Victory. Habitat for Humanity became the link back to the city he was searching for. Through an organization named Musicians Village he finally felt he was contributing to the city while assisting the musicians and artists who has been displaced. From that day on a percentage of each and every garment sold goes to Habitat for Humanity and Musicians Village.
Piggy D brings to the line an innovative drive that is unlike any other in the industry. Piggy D, a veteran musician who currently plays bass for Rob Zombie has been creating his own clothing for over 15 years as well as working extensively in graphic design.
Piggy D's talent for Graphic Design expanded the company to include music , web and print graphic design, album/merch design, viral marketing/ promotion as well as music and video production. This provides a "one stop shop" for indie artists as well as major music companies.
