Reviews of Black Vinyl Heart:
"Dark, rousing, beautiful music" - Soulrise.
"Lisa has a truly lovely voice, her soaring range went through the Firebug ceiling! Along with Mel’s constantly sympathetic violaings this was a really beautiful set. She has a totally off the wall range, love it, a female Jeff Buckley indeed!" - Kevin Hewick; Factory Records.
"In one shake of the Hips, Lisa de’Ville can turn water into Jack. Bless her sweet soul." - Jason K. Roy
"Dynamic rock that goes from chilled out melodic moments to huge layered guitar epics in moments, all sung with the voice of an angel." The Maze, Nottingham
"Like a sensual massage for my ears" - Andrew - Aconite Records.
"Wonderful, beautifully crafted Jeff Buckley-meets-PJ Harvey-at-a-Smashing Pumpkins-gig aceness with a genuinly remarkable voice" - Simon Brown, Fire in the Disco.
"’A New Day’ - what a beautiful track. Such a serene sound, kind of a lazy meloncholy (in tone!- not lazy playing!). I adore the vocals, like Jane sibery or Pj Harvey." - Without Eyes.
“As a procession of great songs showed off a wide range of influences - Jeff Buckley pickings, a bit of Bert Jansch celt folk dronings, and in the standout number, the piledriver drumming of Andy McAllister creating a storm of PJ Harvey noise. This really was a great show, a very powerful proposition”. - Newark Newspaper-http://bankys-music.livejournal.com
"Quite huge and nice and earthy at the same time. The vocals sounded awesome over it". - Richy - Subway Studios
"Black Vinyl Heart played the LSU main stage with lorraine a few weeks ago and absolutely blew everyone else who they played with off the stage , as they regularly do - Black Vinyl Heart create the soundtrack to your life". -Loughborough Student Union Radio

Black Vinyl Heart are a four piece hailing from the East Midlands, whose music has been
described as a dynamic, beautifully crafted serene sound. Fronted by classically trained singer Lisa de'Ville, the creative force behind the band, they offer a refreshing take on the alternative rock genre.
Formed in 2006, the band has gone through several incarnations, before settling comfortably into the current line-up, breeding creativity and complimentary musicianship.
Sometimes our songs are sparse and delicate, sometimes our songs are loud, with ferocious guitar, building into cacophonic walls of emotionally charged sound that pull the listener into submission.
Backing Lisa up on Lead Guitar is Jade Bowman, whose formidable bank of guitar effects create stunning sounds capes and provides musical light and shade.
Providing the bass for the riffs is Johnny Coolin, underpinning the powerful guitar grooves with stylish and innovative post-dub bass-lines. This is all rhythmically driven by drummer Andy McAllister, alternating powerful chops with intricate runs and fills, whilst ensuring to maintain a musical edge.
The band are no stranger to the live situation, with the total of performances by individuals in the band clocking in at over 1500 appearances! The members have played such venues as Shea Stadium, Rock City and Glastonbury.
Recent performances by the re-energised new line-up have spawned many complimentary comments, drawing comparisons to Smashing Pumpkins,
PJ Harvey and Jeff Buckley.
