About me: Blackwater Rugby Football Club was formed in 1997. We compete in the Virginia Rugby Union DIVISION III
There are two seasons for Rugby Spring & Fall. Our Spring season runs from Feb - 1st week or so in May and is an open season. In the Fall we Compete against other VRU Division II teams for a shot to play in the national championships.
Who I'd like to meet: If you are interested in playing rugby drop us a line. We are always looking for players of all ages. We are also in the process of reviveing our Women's team and also look for highschool and youth programs in the near future.
Guys, today was absolutley awesome. Just travelling to another game with 25 guys is the stuff of Division II clubs! Way to be on time, well turned out and ready to roll.
We took a team placed nationally last year all the way to the hilt and ended up with a tied game. Big shout out today to the entire forward unit, our forwards controlled the game pushed their scrum all over the field and maintained beautiful posession of the ball.Way to stand strong against their pack inside our 5 metre line in the last minutes. Rob Zmuda- great covering tackles late in the second half when their backs tried to make a last gasp effort. Then we went and killed them in the B game and had 3 more zulu runs- congratulations Jon Lyons, Jersey and Austin. Way to open your Blackwater rugby accounts and here's to more of that.
