    Blackwood Hymnal was originally formed in 2004 by Katrina Whitney with Josh Irving on guitar and drums and Bill Patton on pedal steel and guitar. The band took a hiatus in 2006 and Katrina found a new writing partner and musical soul mate in guitarist Michael Aryn. They formed the band Palodine together and have released two records on the Tarnished label. After three years of experimenting with the electric, heavier sound of Palodine,they recently started to switch gears and have written 12 new songs to resurrect the sparse,acoustic and haunting sound of Blackwood Hymnal which they will be recording this year (with invitations to various musician friends of the past to join them on the new record.) Stay tuned....
