Sounds Like
Something resembling a Morris tune. "Hey Joe". The sweet smell of Emmanuel Pines. Also, tastes like burning.
Black Wren Morris is the newest morris dance team in Arizona. Formed in April of 2006 by Jeremy Cheek, Laura Masterson, and NoEl Hapgood. They are a mixed side that plans on undertaking the widest variety of Cotswold traditions that they can get their hands on as well as dabbling in Border, Molly, Sword, and Rapper. The team has also delved into the "invented Morris" which consists of the Hayden's Ferry tradition developed here in the Sonoran region, also lovingly reffered to as "desert Morris". Black Wren strives for energy, unity, and bringing the Morris dance to a larger community in Arizona.
Hope all goes to plan. Enjoy. I shall be thinking of you. Our season starts next Thursday with St. George's Day - 23rd April. Take care and happy morrising.
We're talking about organizing a day of dance in San Diego. When I called dibs on billeting Black Wren, my team said, "You know she's picking the ones she can get drunk with." Well, duh.
