I work with many talented musicians in the Toronto area here in Canada. The incomparable John Binions is my first choice as guitar player with his uncanny ability to recreate the sounds of those great guitar cats such as Scotty Moore, James Burton, Don Rich, Pete Anderson and many more. Also I am enjoying playing with Big Tobacco and The Pickers for a dose of hard-core outlaw country - straight up, no chaser.
Influences
Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Charlie Rich, Mickey Gilley, Chuck Leavell, Greg Allman, Duane Allman, Earl Poole Ball, Eric Clapton, Roy Orbison, Redd Volkhaert, Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson, Robert Gordon, Pete Anderson, Ray Griff, Mel McDaniels, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Albert King, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr., Hank III, Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Danny Gatton, Carlos Santana, Fats Domino, Fats Waller, Meade Lux Lewis, Luke and the Apostles, Albert Ammons, Pinetop Perkins, Buddy Holly, Oscar Peterson, The Swingin' Blackjacks and the Royal Crowns.
Sounds Like
(so I've heard) Jerry Lee Lewis, Greg Allman, Ray Charles (hopefully), Johnny Cash.
Blaine McKenzie (guitar, keys, vocals)
Self-taught, he began playing boogie-woogie and country on the family piano at a very young age. "Long before my feet could reach the floor from the bench," he recalls. He has played for years with bands around the GTA and also writes songs. He gained a reputation around the GTA for his explosive Jerry Lee Lewis performances. Now he plays with several bands where you will hear him either performing lead rockabilly/rock'nroll/country (singing and playing) or sometimes using his country piano chops to accompany other notable Toronto-based performers. You can contact Blaine at his hotmail.com address (type blaine_mckenzie@hotmail etc) or leave a message here.

Blaine, We hope that all is well in Toronto. Thank you for being our friend. When you have a chance, if you haven't already, please check out our new music. We have just put up the song, "Cute, Cute", which is a duet with Shalonda Young (pictured below) and me (pictured below Shalonda). Have a nice SUPER SUNDAY. Will it be Pittsburgh or Arizona who wins the Super Bowl? Best of luck to both fabulous teams.
