German electronica from Kraftwerk to Ellen Allien, electro hip hop like Ed Banger or stuff like Kitsunè, Gomma, also old skool Hip hop, from Grand Master Flash to Afrika Bambaata up to Public Enemy, Consolidated and stuff like that. UK punk, or better post punk new wave like Joy Division, also later dance stuff of the Sheffield scene up to 90' US indie hardcore such as Fugazi and No Means No. Too many? Too wide? Just want to add very few Italian songwriters like Tenco and De Andrè and Samuele Bersani. And the all the unusal, non-catalogable, abstract composers like Walter Carlos or Aphex Twin, Coltrane, Puccini, Jimi Hendrix and Stewart Copeland.
Blake is a Dj, producer, remixer and Eclectic Records founder. In the dance scene for more then 10 years he has been releasing records on vinyl, CD and digitally for many important European dance labels before creating at his own brand Eclectic. We can find his name on records by Systematic, Azuli, Rise, Mo-Do, Serial Killer, Dak and many others. As a producer he is quite versatile and has done music on his own and with various partners. With Giorgio Giordano as Monobros on Ocean Trax and Strictly Rhithm, with Zak Frost as Frogsnatcher for Paul Murphy’s legendary label Afro Art. With Spartaco Cortesi, better known as Yellow Cake, as Freaky Disco, and most recently with Elle A (see below). But just before that, one of Blake's longest collaboration has been with Bini and Martini’s label Ocean Trax. He has managed a recording studio for them and has produced various remixes and some good tunes under different names like: “Softminds – Breakaway“, “Johnny Price – Diamond Geeza“, “Audio Unit – Club Dj“ (with Gianni Bini) and recently (finally as Blake!!) “Rock over You“, “Dirty Pitcher“, “Make Up EP“ and “The Future EP“. These records have been very succesfull and took him to be known worlwide and to be booked in many countries such as China, Russia, Greece and of course UK in important nights such as Trailer Trash, Nodisko and Going Places in London.
After this great experience, in the last two years he has seriously taken the challenge to set up his own record company excited by the new possibilities that the web is offering. In a world were everyone is complaining about what we don't have anymore, he has preferred to concentrate on what we have, use the expertise he has gained in music business and explore new possibilities in marketing and communication. So Eclectic Records was born, a platform for all the young, original, unsual electronic producers to have a chance to enter in the music market. One of the most interesting project born at Eclectic Records has been with swedish vocalist, producer, dj and model Elle A. Blake and Elle A are now collaborating since two years, some cool singles have been released and Elle first album is finally out and licensed worldwide.
