Award winning Irish style fiddler Blake Ritter began with classical violin training at the age of 6 in his home town of Arcata, California. His classical background has given him the technical ability to stand out as a skillful and passionate player. .. .. Having won numerous fiddle championships through his childhood and teens, 23 year old Blake had the honour of taking 1st Place in the North American Regional Fleadh Cheoil, which he followed by earning 3rd at the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in 2007. .. .. Blake has studied with some of the greatest players in the in the Celtic tradition both in the United States and during his regular visits to Ireland. Some of his teachers include Alasdair Fraser, Martin Hayes, Kevin Burke, Oisin MacDiarmada, Sean Smyth (Lunasa) and the late Scottish fiddle legend Johny Cunningham. .. .. Possessing an immaculate and energetic style, garnered from his classical technical background and his passion and commitment to Irish Traditional music, ..Blake Ritter.. has been wowing crowds in North America and Europe and is quickly earning a place in the Traditional Irish Fiddle world as an up and coming talent not only as a performer but also as a teacher. .. .. The future of this rising star is promising as he is working on the release of a full length album and upcoming tours of the United States, Canada and Europe.
