Derrick Wayne, coined "A Giant Amongst Men", is Louisiana born and an astounding Hollywood comedian who also has strong credits in film, TV, and theatre. Derrick was tagged "A Giant" not because of his enormous sized DIC......TION, but because he's bigger, badder, & bolder than other young up-and-coming comedians. He is a regular emcee hosting his own comedy room in the heart of Hollywood "The Comedy Café" and has emceed, featured, and headlined at world renowned Hollywood venues such as The Comedy Store, The Icehouse, & The Hollywood Improv. Derrick Wayne has worked on over forty acting projects including "Mind of Mencia" on Comedy Central, and in the summer 2008, he will begin shooting the Hollywood full feature "Casebook" as a lead character. Some of his films like "Dark Town" with Lions Gate Films have enjoyed runs at prestigious festivals like the Sundance Film Festival. He has also performed in front of as many as 6000+ people at the Redlands Amphitheatre. To add to his accolades and credentials, this “Giant” has a background in hip-hop dance and choreography, and a master's degree in Counseling Psychology. In appreciating Derrick’s unique humor and relatability, he was signed by Mr. Ray Murphy Jr., former president and producer of Eddie Murphy Productions, of the high profile Murphy Boyz Management.
