Blanche... We're not a fancy people. We may look somewhat fancy, but we're not. We don't have a fancy sound, although Feeny resorts to musical trickery occasionally. We each do our simple thing and hope that it fits together in a way that doesn't make most people cringe. The metropolis region of Detroit in these United States of America is our home. We rake our leaves as we should. We sit on the front porch and play music. But sometimes we just sit. And think. We endure the sad times. We try to savor the good times without fearing the inevitable other sad times to come. We garbagepick. We clean our gutters. We make small talk with our postal carrier. We wave to our neighbors and help them lift heavy objects. Our hygiene is fairly terrific.
Tracee's hair is sometimes red, sometimes brown, and currently black. She has been known to wear a wig. Feeny has always aspired to "wear a rug." Dan's hair has caused trauma. Lisa chews gum whilst she plays the drums. Little Jack doesn't like small talk. The family that plays together stays together. That is why we often "baby-bird" each other on tour. This means one Blancher chews a piece of food and spills it into the open mouth of another Blanchee who may not have the energy to chew his/her food due to the rigors of touring or general disinterest. This excercise shows trust. And caring for one another.
Blanche will begin recording the new album in February in Nashville at the home of Mr. Mark Nevers, and then head home to Feeny's laboratory, The Tempermill, in Detroit for more recording and mixing. The album should be out in the latter summertime...
Blanche is proud to perform at the 29th Annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival on Friday evening at Hill Auditorium. Founding Blanche member, and Blanche Hall of Fame banjo player, Patch Boyle, will make a rare appearance in the absence of Little Jack who is currently out Greenhorneing.
Thanks to all who attended Feeny's Festivus, The 4th Annual Detroit City Sounds & Spirits charity concert that Feeny conducts every year. Much money was raised for a truly good cause, although Blanche finished 27th out of the 29 bands who played that night according to the international judges. Congratulations again to Feeny, as his rendition of Heatmiser soundly defeated Dan's pitiful Snowmiser waltz.

Gracias.
