Blanc Screen Cinema is a motion picture factory based in Milwaukee, WI that specializes in bizarre, abstract comedy. We've created several award-winning feature films such as Clowns and Suicide and Indulgence as well as numerous short films like the George Lucas-bashing The United States of Noooo!!!. For the last few years, we've been focusing more on experimental shorts like Pork Pork and Rotten Honeymoon. We are also responsible for the cult favorite online webseries Monkey Make Movie. Our most recent projects include a horror feature titled THE RECOVERED starring Tina Krause, an internet "sitcom" called THE GRABOWSKIS, and various surreal shorts like PORK PORK IN SPACE, TWO BROTHERS PLAYING NINTENDO and DAS FOOT.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF BLANC SCREEN CINEMA (minus the things I've forgotten about):
1999:
DISCONNECTED is released, our first attempt at a feature.
2000:
Released the offensive satirical feature THE TROUBLE WITH HER UTERUS. UTERUS is nominated for two REwind Media Festival awards, and wins for "best costumes." DISCONNECTED is nomiated for "best trailer." During the screening of UTERUS at the festival, several people walk out in disgust.
2001:
Numerous short films are shot, including GENERIC ACTION MOVIE, CHIA, and FAZDORF'S DREAM.
2002:
Our next feature, PERVERT GOES HOME is shot and released, garnering the most enthusiatic response any of our films have ever recieved. The movie is nomiated for 8 REwind media awards, including Best Supporting Actress (Lisa Renley) and Best Supporting Actor. GORILLA INTERRUPTED is shot in Chicago.
2003:
CLOWNS AND SUICIDE is released and is winner of 8 (count 'em...EIGHT) REwind awards, including Best Feature, Best Story, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, Best Direction, and Audience Favorite. MONKEY MAKE MOVIE is created by Jay Bauman and Lauren Burke, and new episodes are continued to be created for years to come. GORILLA INTERRUPTED is finally finished and released.
2004:
INDULGENCE is released, to little enthusiasm. It plays at the 2004 Microcinema Film Festival and Lora Story wins Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy.
2005:
TITTIES AND RICE is released. DINKY SAVES THE TURTLEDOVES begins shooting, and is quickly abandoned when it's decided to be too "big" to do on no budget. THE UNITED STATES OF NOOOO!!! is released over the internet, causing traffic at the Blanc Screen website to triple. Mike Stoklasa is interviewed for the Star Wars online radio series, STAR WARS AND BEYOND about the movie.
2006:
Four commercials are shot to promote The Rock River Independent Film festival.
PORK PORK and ROTTEN HONEYMOON are released.
Both PORK PORK and ROTTEN HONEYMOON play at the 2006 Rock River Independent Film Festival, and PORK PORK somehow manages to be the second-highest voted-for film of the fest.
The script for a new feature, MIDNIGHT SCHLOCK THEATER, is completed.
THE UNITED STATES OF NOOOO!!! plays at the 2006 Microcinema Fest in Chicago.
MR. PLINKETT'S BEE BUSTIN' SERVICE is shot, edited, and released in about a week's time.
Another feature script, an untitled horror film at this point, is completed.
Production begins on still-untitled horror feature.
PORK PORK is accepted to the It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival in Racine, WI. Jay accuses the organizers of exploiting filmmakers and the movie is mysteriously pulled from the festival schedule.

2007:
The full trailer for THE RECOVERED is released online.
Lauren Burke and Jay record commentary tracks for an eventual MONKEY MAKE MOVIE DVD.
Tina Krause and Jay Bauman are interviewed on http://www.darkersideradio.com/ seperately. Jay is horribly drunk by the end of his interview.
ORANGES: REVENGE OF THE EGGPLANT is released through Tempe Video in the US and Canada.
THE RECOVERED is featured on the film website www.twitchfilm.net
A final edit of THE RECOVERED is completed.
The absolute final episode of MONKEY MAKE MOVIE is shot, and remains unedited until work on THE RECOVERED is completed.
Extras are created for the eventual RECOVERED DVD, including deleted scenes and outtakes, as well as a commentary track that is recorded in Chicago with Jay, Mike, Dixie Jacobs and Tina Krause.
Jay and Mike begin brainstorming their next feature and a new idea is hatched.
A five minute version of MR. PLINKETT'S BEE BUSTIN' SERVICE is edited by Jay.
THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASON 1 is concieved and shot in less than an hour. It is edited and released onto the internet less than a week later.
THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASON 2 is shot and released.
Opening scenes from PORK PORK IN SPACE are shot.
Episodes for THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASON 3 are shot, and are much more involved and elaborate than the first two seasons put together.
Tina Krause is flown back into Milwaukee and additional shooting for THE RECOVERED takes place. While in town, Tina also shoots cameos for PORK PORK IN SPACE and THE GRABOWSKIS.
EULOGY FOR BRIAN is edited and released.
A final FINAL cut of THE RECOVERED is completed. It has it's premiere screening in the backyard of The Church of Murray, accompanied by some old school GMP shorts and EULOGY FOR BRIAN.
THE RECOVERED screens at the Full Moon Horror Festival in Little Rock, Arkansas and is taken to the American Film Market at the end of October.
WHERE'S LYNDSAY? is released.
THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASON 3 is released.
The tenth and last episode of MONKEY MAKE MOVIE is finally edited and released.
An episode from season 2 of THE GRABOWSKIS becomes a featured video on myspace and garners 150,000 views in one day. THE GRABOWSKIS now has subscribers and many, many haters.
A few episodes of season 4 of THE GRABOWSKIS are shot, including a Christmas episode and an episode starring Rich Evans.
2008:
Auditions are held for a new feature, MIDNIGHT SCHLOCK THEATER, which is shortly after postponed indefinitely.
Remaining episodes for season 4 of THE GRABOWSKIS are shot and released.
A major chunk of PORK PORK IN SPACE is shot in a whirlwind two day shoot.
THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASONS 1-4 is released on DVD, in an attempt to raise money for a GRABOWSKIS feature, which is quickly abandoned when Jay and Dixie share no interest in making it.
TWO BROTHERS PLAYING NINTENDO is shot and released.
A music video for Milwaukee band IfIHadAHiFi's song "Success! Success! Success!" is shot and edited, but held off on being released until the band's latest album, FAME BY PROXY, comes out later in the year.
A few more scenes are shot for the long-in-development MONKEY MAKE MOVIE feature, BINGO SAVES THE PLANET. The goal is to finish it THIS year!
Various episodes for THE GRABOWSKIS: SEASON 5 are shot and released.
INSIGHTS is shot and edited in less than a day.
The IfIHadAHiFi video is released on the interwebs, thankfully to much praise.
The crew enters the Milwaukee chapter of the 48 Hour Film Project, creating a short film called DAS FOOT. It wins the Audience Choice award, and Best Actress Award (Chelsey Patti)
WHERE'S LYNDSAY? PART 2 is shot, edited and released.
BINGO SAVES THE PLANET is finally finished and premieres in a backyard screening at The Church of Murray. It is subsequently released in it's entirety on the internet.
HORSE VOMIT is edited and released, using footage shot for and unused in BINGO SAVES THE PLANET.
BLANC SCREEN CINEMA: THE AMATEUR FEATURE COLLECTION, a 6 disc DVD sest of all our old amateur features, is released, as is BLANC SCREEN CINEMA: FAILED EXPERIMENTS VOL. 1, a 2 disc DVD of short films.
2009:
Final scenes are shot for PORK PORK IN SPACE and the movie is finished just in time to premiere at star Ron Lipski's 29th birthday party.
A new episode of INSIGHTS is shot and released.
PORK PORK IN SPACE is released on DVD.
THE WESTERN ORE MUSICAL! is shot for the Milwaukee 48 Hour Film Project. It wins Audience Favorite, Best Writing, Best Graphics, Best Sound Design, and runner-up for Best Film.
Wisconsin Sickness Vol. 2 has been unleashed, featuring killer music by Unum Machina, 40Oz Fist, Headwork, Mute Grey, Skylines, Path, A Break In The Storm, Fading Faith, Dirtknap, Lucidity, Spectors Of Sin, Seven Signs and Meth Tooth, plus cover art by Aether Design.
