Blanilla (Angel Rusu) started dj-ing in 1999, being very passionate of electronic music, especially breaks and drum & bass. It was just a hobby until five years ago when he started producing his first tracks and work as a radio dj. His tracks immediately got the support of Matze and DJ Vasile who played it at the most important romanian underground music radio show, Zona Libera (Free Zone). 2006 was a very important and productive year for Blanilla. He got the residency at La Gazette club in his hometown, Cluj-Napoca, and was selected by Groove Armada to be a finalist at Heineken Music Thirst, the most important DJs and producers contest in Romania. Blanilla participated at the same contest in 2007 and 2008 as well and he managed to be in the first three, every year, so having the chance of sharing the stage with Groove Armada, 2 many Djs, Soulwax, Tiesto, James Lavelle, James Zabiela, Sven Vath, John Digweed etc. In april 2007, he had the privilege of being on the same line up with one of the best breakbeat producers, Aquasky. 2008 was also a very good year for Blanilla: he played with Jay Cunning, he was a finalist, third time in a row, at the Heineken Music Thirst contest and he played at the most important electronic music festivals in Romania, 48 h, Summer Break and Tm Base. He also started a collaboration with the romanian dj and producer, D-Fact. Together they started producing tracks and they were invited to play 'back 2 back' in all the important cities in Romania. Blanilla and D-Fact are preparing the first single, which will probably be out at the beggining of 2009, at HDM Records.
