Started in the summer of 1999 in NYC, went through various line-up changes until settling on the current three-piece rock action. The band played around the Big Apple and the various outlying area, all the while recording their songs about space-born messiahs, insomnia, govt paranoia, and first dates involving being thrown down stairs. The Blank Stares have now relocated to the beautiful city of San Francisco, Ca. where they hope to grab a few more fans who like three (possibly four) chord, melody-driven songs that you can dance and kiss to.
Look for live performance spots at www.wfmu.org, where the Stares are played regularly on various DJ sets, most notably Three Chord Monte w/ Joe Belock
Thanks so much for the compliment on my tunes. You guys are great, and it's a shame you're not in New York City anymore. Not too many guitar-pop acts out here. But then, perhaps that's why you left.
I'll take the expected shouts of "Freebird" in good humor, but if someone requests "Uptown Girl", he'd better hope that my mic cable isn't long enough for me to dive into the crowd and garrote him.
Domo arigato for your sweet comment, Blank Stares!!!! Have a wonderful weekend! We hope all is well. xoxo THE CLARENCES (robert, amanda, molly, gary & bleach)
