We offer a broad range of services executed to a commercial standard provided at a realistically affordable price. We commit in full to any project we undertake and guarantee to provide the best possible service with full artistic involvement whether the client be an established professional body, a label or an amateur musician.

Originally starting life as a location-based recording company we've been given the opportunity to work with a host of different space almost every time we've recorded; from practice rooms to night clubs to old barns and school houses. Given this experience we've quickly learned what sounds good, what doesn't and how to treat a room to get the best out of it. Our studios live room has been designed with unique sonic quality as a priority, however we have also ensured that the room can be fully manipulated to fit the sound of what ever we might have the pleasure to record. A spot lit solid oak floor, walls of brick, cork and curved wood alongside a diffusive ceiling provide a cosy and comfortable environment conducive to the creativity that we encounter on a daily basis.
We also have a dead room for dry recording and a carefully designed control room optimised for critical listening. A kitchen and bathroom with fitted shower and toilet and a selection of comfy sofa beds means we can even accommodate over night stays and late night sessions for those who may have a long way to travel or just want to loose themselves in a creative space for a couple of days.
In terms of gear, we run a Mac/Logic based setup with Class A Focusrite and Presonus pre amps, KRK monitors and a Mackie control system. We use microphones by Rhode, AKG, Sure, DPA, Neuman, SE electronics and Senheiser. We have a choice of in house drum kits by Yamaha and Gretsch (vintage) as well as a full selection of backline and effects by Mesa, Marshall and Tech21 [amongst others]...
Let's not get carried away though, we at Blank believe that the real charachter and quality that can be evoked from a recorded piece of music, comes primarily from synergy and understanding between the artist and engineer, and the engineers careful application of knowledge and artistic judgement. Having worked with music at every level from amateur through to top flight recordings for international labels, we believe that it is our unique team of engineers that sets us apart as the studio of choice in Newcastle.

New to the Gizeh family, after previous releases on Bella Union and Nettwerk, Trespassers William return with a new EP full of their usual chilling warmth. A sensory overload of broken, distorted soundscapes, all the while pinned back by Anna-Lynne's unmistakably haunting vocals and words.
Trespassers spent two years touring with the likes of Damien Rice, Stereolab, Explosions in the Sky and Broken Social Scene before recording their second album with Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips/Mercury Rev/Low/MGMT etc). Anna-Lynne has also recorded guest vocals on The Chemical Brothers 'Push the Button' record.
