BLANK TAPE LEVY:
On March 19, 1998, new federal copyright legislation came into force. The legislation provides for a levy to be collected on blank audio recording media.
It is called a levy (and not a tax) because it is not collected by any level of government; a group representing the recording industry collects it. Blank Tape Levy is the the of singer-songwriter, Julian Taylor's latest release. It is his first solo effort. Taylor is also a member of the Toronto based rock band Staggered Crossing
