Blankus Larry is a unanimously anonymous psychedelic garage duo from Washington, DC. Cousins Scrooey and Durdy Larry use vintage analog equipment they were lent to capture spontaneous improvisational soundscapes, studies, and songs.
Ranging from raw, explosive conniption fits to lengthy, ambient meditations, the cousins Larry are either unable or unwilling to play anything the same way twice. They focus mostly on writing and recording, but occasionally perform by incorporating looping, electronics, instrumental multi-tasking and visual elements.
Blankus Larry frequently collaborates and records with other musicians and artists, including Regan Kireilis, Seana Carroll, Marc D, and Nick Thunder.
On October 30, 2009, Blankus Larry released four EPs (Satellite Shrine; Blankus Larry, MD; Scupper; Durdy White Melancholy Fades) at the Project Dispatch launch in Washington, DC.
The single "Dead for Christmas" was recorded with Cousin Brendan on double bass and released it on December 11, 2009 at another Project Dispatch show.
