It took me a while because when I was growing up(and where I was growing up) if you weren't blond and blue eyed, you were trash. I had to learn to accept my own differences because even in the black community there is prejudices(dark skinned ppl hating on light skinned ppl and vice versa) I wasn't accepted by whites but I was also told I wasn't "black enough" It wasn't until I met friends from the East Coast who told me not to let anyone tell me I'm not "black enough" because if the white man won't accept me, I must be "too black" for them. Well regardless of all of it, I've learned to embrace my mix and I've made friends of all races now and I've learned not to hold against them what was held against me long ago.. My grandmother told me to "Love yourself for ALL that you are because it's what makes you so beautiful and unique looking" I also thank my sisters Danyelle, Ruth, Paridise and Heidi (all strong beautiful black women) for helping me embrace my blackness and not hide it like others (who can "pass")

My tastes in music are as diverse as my racial mix, I a little bit of some things, a lot of others, I really love high energy music, music that makes me want to get up out of my seat and dance. Whenever I leave the house my mp3 player goes with me, I would cease to exist if they ever banned music.
