Blasters On! is back. New tunes will be up someday. Keep your ears peeled.
Seriously, back with a vengence!
So, Blasters On came together in the Winter of 2003 out of mutual urge to rock out. After playing a few shows under a slew of different names, the boys finally settled on the name Blasters On. In late 2004 they recorded a 5 song EP title "Mr. Promiscuis" Only around 15 copies are in existance at present. After a slump of a showless year, Blasters On returned to the Billings Scene with a few shows in the fall of 2005.
Check out www.myspace.com/set2stun for more Blasters On songs and other solo stuff that we record!
Creating fast, upbeat and all-around rocking music is what Blasters On is all about. We don't care what the scene is like, we don't care what music is popular, all we we care about is having fun and making music. A unique blend of punk rock, pop-punk, and complete originality is what makes Blasters On a fresh new face to a scene that is becoming increasingly crowded with look-alike, sound-alike wanna-be bands.
RELEASES
Mr. Promiscuous (2004)
1. George Bush
2. Pointless Observations
3. All Because a Nun Ran a Stop Sign
4. Just a Fantasy...
Hidden Track. Outro
In late 2004 we hit up Nick Miles' basement and recorded this little four song demo. Looking back now...it all sounds pretty bad. Pointless observations is the best sounding song of the record and we still play it at shows sometimes. "All because a nun ran a stop sign" still has the catchiest riff ever, thanks to Dustin. All the drums and bass was recorded in an afternoon. Aside from it's poor quality, it is the only Blasters On release so far to actually include photos of us. So, it's got that going for it...
In November 2005 we found a great little studio in downtown Billings called NWS studios. Matt Gilg was the owner/producer and in just two short nights he helped us record two of our best songs to date. It was great time. We were in the studio at the same time as our friends in Days Drowning so there was lots of studio shananagins. This demo probably best reflects our style. False Angel was written by Dustin and really showcases his songwriting at it's best. "Searching..." was written by Zach and shows off his story-telling take on lyrics and basic pop punk song structure. Blasters On at its best.
Blasters On EP (2006) 1. False Angel 2. Living Dead 3. Searching... 4. Leave this Place...
Once again, we found ourselves at NWS Studios with Matt. And, once again, Days Drowning was with us while recording, again making it a good time for all. The two new songs on this one, "Living Dead" and "Leave this Place..." are some of our best tunes to date. The recording sounds a little more raw then the false angel demo due to different recording methods but it is different in a good way. Zach was able to stretch his creative muscles a little more in these two songs with his lyrics. Also, both songs feature clips from the movies "Night of the Living Dead," "Dawn of the Dead," and "Donnie Darko." Living Dead is Blasters on at it's most technical with a real running guitar riff and lot's of dual harmony. "Leave This Place..." is a great combination of both Zach and Dustin's writing styles and is complimented by one of Jeff's greatest drum beats ever. "Living Dead" is about a zombie girl, and "Leave This Place..." is about a real girl. Doesn't get much better than that.
Final Cut (2007)(UPDATED INFO!)
(No cover art yet)
1. The Sacrifice...
2. Empty...
3. False Angel
4. Leave This Place
5. Searching...
6. Living Dead
8. TBA? (Track order subject to change)
(UPDATED INFO!!!) Soon, we are heading into the studio to record two more tracks to add to our ever-growing E.P. Two more songs that harken back to the musical contrast between "Searching..." and "False Angel." A sweet melodic Dustin song "The Sacrifice..." and a in-your-face lyrical trip, once again into Zach's head, "Empty..." If we can get the fundage, we'll record two more. Give us some suggestions as to what other ones to record. Thanks.
And, most likely, we will now constantly be recording demos with our own recording...stuff...so, more songs will be very soon!
