Blast! Zine is a newly-established print zine launching in 2009. Flying in the face of popular wisdom which dictates that the printed word is a dead format, Blast! acts as a mouthpiece for bands to speak directly to the small hardcore of loyal underground headbangers who skulk in the shadows amongst the bright lights of today's modern technological world. The greatest strength of the printed word is that Blast! will really be a fanzine in the old sense of the word - written by fans, for fans, and read only by the fans.The internet is great for staying up to date with news, but in the case of extreme music, it is a dangerous, diluting agent as well. The printed fanzine can stop this effect if bands choose to use this naturally exclusive and elitist format for their interviews. Blast! Zine supports all bands who uphold the values of the underground.

The debut full-length opus, 'Escaping The Abyss', contains eight tracks of majestic progressive black metal, contrasting extreme elements with graceful passages creating a sound that is refreshingly original and unique. Blending together a wide range of different musical influences, (including the likes of Enslaved and Opeth), Fornost Arnor have created an unmistakable style... one they have made very much their own.
