Singer-songwriter Blaudzun, named after an unknown Danish cyclist, writes dreamy songs, wrapped in sober arrangements that through his remarkable voice and the haunting melodies get an almost ecstatic atmosphere.
In 2007 he worked on a special collection of songs, originally intended to be a soundtrack for a midnight car drive. The songs were recorded in a small bedroom, with additional hotelroom recordings in Barcelona and studio sessions in the Netherlands.
His self-titled debut was released by v2 records and is an album on which melancholy and hope argue with each other, to finally end in an intense embrace. Critics and music fans have labelled the album as a surprising and wonderful debut.

In the spring of 2008 Norwegian artist Ane Brun heard a song of the Dutchman and invited him to do a short clubtour in the Netherlands. After that Blaudzun continues to tour with his brother Jakov on guitars and lap steel, Michiel van Elk on accordion and René Dufry on drums.
April 2009 Blaudzun started writing and recording a new album.
