My favorite director by far has to be M. Night Shyamalan. His films have a way of touching me like no other. It's not about aliens, living like the amish, or those we don't speak of. It's not about a lady in the water, per se. It's about the journey; what part do we play? Do we see signs? Do we understand that an innocent saved innocence, and not the lies of our parents? Do we understand that we can all make a difference, and help to shape and change the future of our own world. We can make a difference. All it takes is a little bit of faith.

The Lord of the Rings, Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Patriot (Gibson), Master and Commander, Kate and Leopold, Shadowlands, Gods and Generals, Gettysburg, Cinema Paradiso, Star Wars, What Dreams May Come, Stigmata, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Jesus of Nazareth, A Knight's Tale, Amadeus, Dances With Wolves, Open Range, Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Serendipity, Love Actually, Glengarry GlenRoss, Saving Private Ryan, Good Morning Vietnam, Music From Another Room, Ladder 49, Ben Hur, The Odyssey, Jason and the Argonauts, National Treasure, A Perfect World, Tombstone, Chariots of Fire, Wargames, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Omen trilogy, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Chicken Little, The Goonies, Boondock Saints, The Chronicles of Narnia, King Kong, Stand By Me, Notting Hill, the Harry Potter films, Wall-E, Casino Royale.

My God... Andy I will miss you like crazy! You were so smart, so very open to coming to grips with other people's ideas about things, and kindness in person, always. I feel like shit...

    I miss you.

Oh Andy, I'm so upset to hear that you are gone. We haven't talked in over a year, but you always had such nice things to say. My heart breaks for your parents, your sister, and your beautiful wife. You will be dearly missed. <3

andy i am so devastated that you're gone. i will never forget playing music with you ever, and the hours of sharing and crying we did over that damn Elbow album, I will never not cry now when I hear Scattered Black and Whites for sure. I will miss you forever, and love you more than that.

you were so amazing Andy. i feel so blessed to have had you in my life. the sad thing is that i was thinking about me, you, and christina getting together for dinner or something before christmas. now that will never happen :( i have so much regret for not calling you when i was home this spring and getting together with you. i know you are in a better place and watching over all of us. I KNOW you are with God and looking after Shannon and your family and friends. thank you for being such a great friend. i love you Andy!

Severe spam message from jcmmanuel [stop] Wanted to share this quality vid with you [stop] Don't know if I will like this one tomorrow but I liked it today [stop] Interesting statement of hope [stop] Close your eyes. Enjoy. Ponder.

    Brooke Fraser- "C.S. Lewis Song"

If I find in myself desires nothing in this world can satisfy,
I can only conclude that I was not made for here
If the flesh that I fight is at best only light and momentary,
then of course I'll feel nude when to where I'm destined I'm compared

    [CHORUS]
Speak to me in the light of the dawn
    Mercy comes with the morning
I will sigh and with all creation groan as I wait for hope to come for me

Am I lost or just less found? On the straight or on the roundabout of the wrong way?
Is this a soul that stirs in me, is it breaking free, wanting to come alive?
'Cause my comfort would prefer for me to be numb
And avoid the impending birth of who I was born to become

    [CHORUS]
    [BRIDGE]
For we, we are not long here
Our time is but a breath, so we better breathe it
And I, I was made to live, I was made to love, I was made to know you
    Hope is coming for me
    Hope, He's coming
  • May 23 2009 3:54 PM

Wow I didn't know that. Give her a huuuuuge kiss from me, she will feel better I swear;)
  • May 23 2009 1:29 PM

Yeah I see. Now are you Andy or are you Fenton? Grow up man, no time for an identity crisis - DARE YOU TO MOVE?! Lol Thanks for your comment on the song, so right. Stars: great song too indeed.

Hi what's going on with Shannon mate??
  • May 22 2009 5:17 PM

Hi Andy - still with the kid in your arms? You know you got me on that one! LOL - hope you have a nice weekend.

I'd like to share this vid with my friends. "I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor"... Could it be the primordial Christian "Rapture Theory"? I'm just pondering. Be blessed.

    Welcome to the planet
    Welcome to existance
    Everyone's here
    Everyone's here

    Everyone's watching you now
    Everybody waits for you now
    What happens next?
    What happens next?

    I dare you to move
    I dare you to move
    I dare you to lift
    yourself up off the floor
    I dare you to move
    I dare you to move
    like today never happened
    Today never happened before

    Welcome to the fallout
    Welcome to resistance
    The tension is here
    The tension is here

    Between who you are
    And who you could be
    Between how it is
And how it should be, yeah

    I dare you to move
    I dare you to move
    I dare you to lift
    yourself up off the floor

    I dare you to move
    I dare you to move
    like today never happened
    Today never happened

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
    Where you gonna go?
    Where you gonna go?
    Salvation is here

They sound a tad like the band Deathstars.

I hate it when bands just put up 30 second clips of their songs though.

Btw, is he a Theist by any chance?
  • Mar 28 2009 3:53 PM

    Rodney Stark?
    Seriously?!

Hahahaha, he was the author of the sociology text book I used in my very first Soc class I ever took in college.

He's a sociologist of religion, kinda like, the field I want to get into once I go into grad school.
    Small world eh?
    :)

Haha - I'm so sorry for the child confusion - but you have asked for it of course with that avatar.

New blogs... yeah, that hurts;) So many thoughts and books, so little produced yet - you know the feeling of a hundred 'blogs in the making'? Discipline is what I need. Or maybe less friends;) LOL, no, that would be rude.

    Blessed week!

PS I reacted on a comment from you on Andréz Ruiz' blog (http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=11266595&blogId=475265955), I'm a bit late in time though.

    Have a blessed day!
