the camp (first 17 seconds are silent) - possibly the oldest structure on lake winnisquam at the time of its destruction, this is where 'spirograffe' (and much of 'this is john') was recorded - the song is a one-track improvisation on a home-built string synth, and was on the sound-track (with many songs from grasshopper) to the unreleased d. r. farquaharson film "billy todd's war".

i started bleat in 1993 in order to make any kind of music without restraint under one umbrella
after one lp of warped technopunk ("igloo") and a children's rock lp ("spirograffe"), bleat expanded to a trio with daren follower on bass and darryl leonard on drums
together we made the tumbleweeds-and-pixies "spoke", and the more straightforward "ugly kisser"
a bleat 45 was released in 1996, and a cd in 2001

b tru 2 yr skoöl - i'm going for the narrator (like the antagonist) being 'some loud braggart' (and a drunkard) with that vocal, on an outtake that gets the full 'spirograffe' treatment: lead vocal and acoustic guitar laid down first (live with no click), everything else piled on top - also, kelly dobson & meg mcardle sing la-las and annie johnson plays bongos from another planet
