Often compared to a string trio with an orangutan on percussion, Blee Mind Thrice offers something for the most discriminating listener. That is, the type of discriminating listener on the hunt for for befuddling, esoteric lyrics with tempo negotiable. One thing's for sure... each change is more fascinating than the next!
After the breakup of Kilgore Trout, der brudders Jaime Legato and Shirc Real wanted to move in a different direction so they started writing more complex instrumental works. One day, Noisia's Stue Trory fucked up what they were doing by horning in on drums. At this point, you could say that they, in fact, became a fork to be retched undo wit.
Blee Mind Thrice starts with the basics: electric guitar, electric bass and a drum kit, but describing their music is as annoying as the music itself . For a piss-poor example, you could take Robert Fripp's guitar work and Black Sabbath's muddy production value, mix it with the rantings of a madman, and you would be about .15 percent accurate. But by simply listening to Blee, one can understand why it was impossible to find an audience in the frozen tundras of the Midwest. Even producing a studio album at local fave FJM did little to garner interest in this Classic Rock berg.
Blee's move to Florida in 1996 didn't hurt the obscurity, but it also didn't stop the connection with some former bandmates. Jan Rigket's visit to Orlando in Spring 1997 was the beginning of what would represent the deluding vision of Dermusik. Jan added his trademark banter to Blee's instrumental tracks while Blee made Jan and Thaddeus Floodgate record what would become Giant Jerk's longest effort to date Best of Me. The rest is histDERy.
