Dear Friends,
Our dear friend Nancy Cataldi,
Passed away this OCT 30TH 08 She was a great friend of mine since the mid 70s ..
She was a New Yorker, born and bred with formative years spent in Naples, Italy, returning at 12 in the middle of the Beatles invasion. She also was a freelance photographer and have had her photos published on Rolling Stone, New York Times, Daily News, Time Magazine, Circus, Creem and many more. She was a papparazzo from 1976-1980, and then a house photographer for the New York Rangers for a few years.
She was a historian , and have two books on the market. Besides being a freelance photographer, She spent much of her time working as a historian for a local cemetery and create exciting walking tours and programs for them. She also work freelance as a fashion stylist once a while. She have a great bunch of friends in real life and on here that have been very true and loyal. She was currently trying to pull all her pictures together of the New York Dolls, The Fast, Blondie, Bowie and all the Glam bands from 82 Club, Max's Kansas City days to do a new book. She expect to do a gallery showing of these photographs as well in New York City.
SHE Will allways live in our HEARTS .
For those who did not know her ...
This week we lost a very dear friend. One who was so special that no words can really do justice to her memory or convey what we who knew her well are feeling in our hearts ..

I was born with music in my soul and drumsticks in my hands, ( my poor mom, right?). I can’t imagine my life without music in it.......................................
A little about me: I am a Native American Indian. I was actually born in a teepee to a tribe in Northern CA, called the Klamath Indians, who hunted and fished for food. I helped, but from an early age I knew music was my heart.
I learned the classical cello. I was writing, scoring and composing my own music at a very young age. My uncle left a drum for me when I was just weeks old, and I think it was just my destiny to be a drummer and singer…
When I was 17 years old, I flew to New York, and auditioned for a back up band that backed the Monkees . I was hired on the spot. My life was forever changed! After touring with the Monkees, I started a band of my own and have had several bands throughout my lifetime that were very successful. But, as with anything , everything has a season. I established a band called Profit, a power trio in 1971 with the infamous Jerome Arnold of Paul Butterfield Blues Band (East West Album) and Don Brown from Donovan’s acclaim(guitar & keyboards). After riding the spotlight rollercoaster for many years, I decided to become a promoter which I found I was very successful at doing.
I had the Elgin Theater (in Chelsea, NYC-now the Joyce Theater). I helped revolutionize the first steps of the punk rock movement in the 70’s. I was an in house promoter for the legendary Max’s Kansas City in N.Y.C. I helped manage 10 of the most influential bands of the era with names like Neon Leon, Kongress and Shanghai Side Show to mention a few. I was leader of the Ocean Star Band with now the legendary Jordan Rudess of Dream Theatre ..boards. I was one of the founders in the 1970’s of “Help the Children’s Foundation” along with the Actor’s Institute I also toured during this time with the Alvin Alley Dance Troop backing up Brother John Sellars and Bell Scott at such venues as Carnegie Hall. I met millions of people and enjoyed too many to mention perks of the biz.
I made Rock and Roll History in 1979 working with CBS on Pink Floyd’s album “THE WALL” on the song “Bring the Boys Back Home”.
I got the call from Michael Kamen and Bob Ezron (producer) on Friday needing 30 drummers by Monday, and I was able to deliver, and because of this I was named in Pink Floyd’s Rock and Roll Encyclopedia third edition.
Though I still enjoy promoting new and upcoming musicians, my true love will always be playing,

During my years of studio work, recording and concert experiences, I have worked with many names too numerous to mention, as I am a people person, and make true friends easily. I have stayed in contact with a multitude of musicians and would like to encourage you to invite me to listen to your music and work together to enhance your musical endeavors on your new music project.

How are you on this fine Autumn day?!?! It's beautiful, sunny & 68 here! The cotton has finally burst open and you can see fields of white all around here. Our fall colors are just now peeking. It's so beautiful in the mountains around my house & the best way to experience fall is on foot or horseback! The Multicolored Asian Lady Beetles are everywhere here. The Gov't. drops thousands by planes every fall. They get inside the house, your bed. They bite too! I miss my humming birds. I call them my sugar babies & neighbors call me the Sugar MaMa. LOL They have all migrated on now. I had about 40 regulars this year! They even fed from my hand! But they always come back in April. October ended with me in a 'Soul Train Line Dance' to the music "Monster Mash". LOL You would have laughed your head off at me. November arrived with a very crisp chilled air & thick fog! It was like walking in the clouds. I'm really looking forward to the holidays, the family gatherings, and the food! I've been digging out some of my favorite harvest recipes. The traditional along with new ones other women has shared with me.
£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
