    Brad's Interests
General
General: Art, Science, Philosophy, Music, Engineering, Literature, Religion, Mathematics, Economics, Politics, History
Music
Music: I'm fairly picky about which individual artists I like or dislike, however, I'm also pretty open toward any kind of genre. Classical music would be my overall favorite.
Movies
Movies: Throne of Blood, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Dr. Strangelove, Metropolis (1927), Neon Genesis, Blade Runner
Television
Video Games:
I play them FAR less than pretty much all of my male friends, but I am into the crème de la crème.

Television: "These are the Masters of the universe? All they do is fight like Neanderthals."
Books
Books: Well, personally, I think that YouTube comments are the zenith of human literary achievement but if you were to force me to read the printed page I might make list like this:

Jorge Luis Borges: Collected Fictions, The Stranger, The Hero With a Thousand Faces, The Masks of God, The Essential Tales of Chekhov, Notes from the Underground, The Idiot, The Brothers Karamazov, Blood Meridian, Moby Dick, The Pearl, (Thats all I can think of for now)

Heroes
Heroes: The notion of having heroes is one that I find completely foreign to my personality. Does this indicate that I am a free thinker or a person with with an inflated ego?

Brad's Details: Status: Single

Here For: I don't know... I thought this was compulsory.

Orientation: Straight

Hometown: I have to respond like Diogenes: "Cosmopolites."

Religious Views: None for me thanks.

Or, on a more serious note:

A Religion is an organization of symbolic narratives and images that are metaphorical of the possibilities of human experience and fulfillment in a given society at a given time.

Political Views: Socially, I'm very liberal (or "permissive"), Economically, I'm more moderate. I'm not really accepted by Libertarians or Liberals when I start talking Econ.

Children: Not yet...

Education:I have a PhD in Creation Science from an unaccredited diploma mill. My PhD thesis was titled If evolution is true then how come there are still monkeys?

Sarcasm: Frequent.

About me:
I'm a computer science student. I think that I'm probably a bit frumpy and of a generally cheerful temperament.

This page is frankly directed more toward my "meatspace" friends who already know "about me" than the random stranger... but all are certainly welcome. I have acquainted myself with a humble corner of philosophy in my day (It's a hobby I guess) and I have few blogs that deal with the subject in the superficial manner befitting a dabbler such as myself.

The obligatory quotes below:

"To frame a philosophy capable of coping with men intoxicated with the prospect of almost unlimited power and also with the apathy of the powerless is the most pressing task of our time."
-Bertrand Russell

"Idolatry is a servile endeavor, for you are only worshiping the temporary paradigms of an eternal flux--and it is that flux which deserves respect. Knowledge of the Logos alone is worthy of reverence."
-Heraclitus

This is one of my favorite paintings:

[William Holman Hunt (Pre-Raphaelite painter 1827-1910) The Light of the World 1851-53]

Who I'd like to meet:
Well, I'm probably pretty introverted, in that I am capable of being quite happy unto myself. However, I do genuinely enjoy interacting with friendly intelligent people who share any of my interests. Feel free to drop me a line if that's your bag of tea.

A three-year-old boy fell eighteen feet into a zoo enclosure containing seven gorillas. He was immediately rescued, not by zookeepers, but by one of the animals. The 150 lb. female gorilla picked up the unconscious form of the boy and laid it at a door to be easily retrieved to by zookeepers. This cross-species rescue has resulted in thousands of dollars in donations to the zoo. It is perhaps because of these donations that zookeepers have kept quiet about one vital detail, a hastily scrawled note tucked in the boy's collar, "Thanks; but we prefer fruit.
