Booze, chicks, and the almighty dollar. Those are the greatest influences on us.
If you're talking about musical influences, we've never really listened to any music other than what we've written. After hearing our songs after we wrote them, we have no real need to listen to anything else. So we'd have to say our biggest influence is just ourselves; that's why we're so creative and original. By listening to ourselves, we only inspire ourselves to be better. It's quite beautiful, actually.
If you would like us to perform for you, it's quite simple. You cough up the dough, little man, and we'll be there with bells on. Check out our new-fangled Electronic Press Kit:
Oh, wow. This is tough. I mean how do you describe a sound with words? Hmm. Well, I guess you'd call it, the epitome of musical perfection in every imaginable way. If there is a sound you can imagine that would force you to say, "Wow, that is the single greatest collection of sounds I have ever heard, and I wouldn't mind going deaf after hearing that so that it would ring on in my head from now until the moment I take my last breath." then you probably get the idea. Other ways to describe it might be--we sound like heaven, we sound too good to actually be humans, we sound like christmas morning, or we sound like we may be from the future where musicians have evolved to a point of near perfection and have built a time machine to come back and share that sound with people that aren't as perfect as we are.
Please pardon our modesty; our mothers taught us never to brag.
Here is when and where you might be able to see us live and hear what we sound like for yourself (it will change your life, I promise):
Rockin' strong since 1983, Blind Lion has faced countless changes in trends and musical styles but has remained loyal to its roots: Good Old-Fashioned Glam Metal. With long, luxurious flowing locks and a touch of eye makeup, Blind Lion had dreams of playing in front of thousands and rocking them all.
Born on a cloudy Thursday morning in the spring of '83, Blind Lion had only one goal: to be the biggest band on the planet. They picked up their instruments of choice and started pounding out the greatest hits that this world (and probably several others) will ever know. Great tunes were the result, such as "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Once Bitten Twice Shy" or "Here I go Again on My Own" and even "You Give Love a Bad Name". Unfortunately, Blind Lion were not as great of business minds as they were musical geniuses. They quickly saw their great hits stolen, one after another, by talentless hacks who used their righteous tunes to make millions. These hacks include Great White, Bon Jovi, Poison, White Snake, and especially Blind Lion's ultimate nemesis, Def Leppard.
For the next 24 years Blind Lion faded into the oblivion. Each member got tangled up into vices that would haunt them for two decades. Lead singer, Keith HartThrob would go on to grow the biggest pecan tree farm in the continental US only to have it taken away because of an alleged steroid-grown mega-ultra pecan scandal that has since made him a household name. Lead guitarist Rikki Rakket went on to chase his other dream, Professional Tennis, only to lose to an aspiring Pete Sampras in '88 and after a monkey-stomping by the young Sampras, Rakket was forever banned from the sport after killing two referees and a fan with continual peltings from his tremendously thunderous serve. Rhythm guitarist, Dante Durango, finished medical school to become a practicing pediatrician. After being a little generous writing a few too many prescriptions to his former colleagues (earning the nickname Dr. "FeelGood" and inspiring a hit from his buddies in Motley Crue), the good doctor was forced out of medicine forever. Randi Michaels, bass player extraordinaire, went back to his first love Budweiser. The two were wed in 1986. He has been seen very few times since, but on those few occasions he has appeared very, very happy. Drummer Rick O'Shea went on to doing porn films under the moniker Ben the Hammer and Dr. Rammithome. His career could be summed up with words such as lackluster and garden variety.
So here it is in 2007 and Blind Lion is here to reclaim their thrones as the kings of this jungle you call Rock and Roll. So sit back and enjoy the ride as Blind Lion righteously claim the title as the biggest band on the planet.
when do we get to hear some of your great tunes on here? and your lead singer needs to work on his british accent. he sounded like madonna switching back and forth... but he's still dreamy. *sigh*
