I dare you to stand in crowd during a BlindRHETORIC set and not get goose bumps. This Baltimore based 4-piece doesn't so much play music as they construct it, building on each other's talents and composing songs that seem to take on a life of their own, growing to an amazing apex before crashing back to earth. As a writer trying to describe BlindRHETORIC I find myself at a loss for words. See, this is where it would help if the fit into some clearly defined genre, or sounded like a knock-off of some other band or style but that is not the case. BlindRHETORIC is truly original.
The music is driven byt he vocals of Brian Wade, whose voice leads the evolution of music. What starts with an almost haunting tone, can break out into a soaring melody that can convey more emotion and feeling than even the most gut wrenching screams. Brian pulls double duty in the band teaming up with Kevin Molitor on guitars. As a team, kevin and Brian create textures of sound that just build in tempo and soar just as high as the vocals, if not higher. Holding down the rhythms, are Justin Temple on bass guitar and Ben Zamzow, on the drums. Keeping a strong rhythm to songs that drift in and out tempos so fast would be a challenge enough for most musicians, but these two don't settle for that at all. rather, they each use the full potential of each of their instruments to add their own layer to a musical style that can be only described as thick.

Alternative, rock, whatever you want to call it, blindRHETORIC is a legitimate prodigy in the vein of Silverchair and Crowded House. Brian Wade has that uncanny vocal style which mellows the heart the same way Neil Finn of Crowded House engulfs your senses. The music is full of rich sounds that will dazzle any listener. “Riot” is an amazing song that is written well and has the peaks of punctuation that is bottled up and explodes at the precisely the right moment… brilliant! One of the high points is “Better Hell” which has powerful chords with a variety of directions, going from echoes of The Edge of U2 to traditional alternative. All the songs on “Clockwork” have a good vibe and should have Blind Rhetoric signed in no time.
It's not about what we look like or what "sound" we are. We just are happy being able to play the songs that we write and enjoy the music that we share with the world. The great thing is being able to have total strangers tell us they like it too.
We have never been much for proclaiming our greatness, hell, we can't even write a bio for ourselves cause it makes us feel like idiots. I guess the best way we can describe what we have to offer the world is honesty. We write and choose these songs delicately because we love them as if they are our children. Not because we want to be this kind of band or play this kind of song but because we are music fans playing what is enjoyable to our ears.
Thats the meaning behind BlindRHETORIC. It is what is spoken, with no ulterior motive. What you see is what you get.
Plain and simple that's us.
And we love you all for supporting that ideal
Always,
Justin, Brian, Kevin and Ben
