Hello, after an unfortunate hiatus, the reasons for which are probably best not gone into here, we finally have some new music on the AUK MySpace site. For your listening pleasure this month we offer Nathan Oliver, Conrad Ford, the irrepressible Todd Snider and the delightful Beccy Owen. Don't forget too, for those of you within striking distance of Leicester, Electric Dustbowl 2 on 19 September.

18th June 2009 7.30pm at Fuel Bar - AMERICANA SPECIAL WITH BLIND RIVER SCARE, JAN BELL AND WILL SCOTT
Fuel Bar, Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester, M20
Adm: free

Acoustic showcase hosted by Picnic Area.

Our visiting stars are Blind River Scare, all the way from Newport, South Wales, making their second visit to Fuel as part of their national tour. This highly melodic Americana outfit have previously supported the likes of Mark Eitzel, Clem Snide and Midlake.

In a similar vein is Warrington’s country-influenced acoustic songwriter Ray Humphries.

Don’t miss Dave Tuxford - formerly folk and roots correspondent for the Manchester Evening News, he’ll keep you entertained with a mixture of traditional folk songs and witty asides!

And we’ve got 2 alt country star visitors from the USA - Jan Bell and Will Scott, all the way from bohemian Brooklyn (NYC’s answer to Edgeley). Jan’s CD "Songs for love drunk sinners" achieved the Independent Music Awards Alternative Country album of the year!
