Playing out like dirty little diary entries hazily remembered from the night before, the music of The Blinds is set on moving people on the floor and indulging in the finer points of life (you know: drinking, smoking, and getting over involved with pretty girls). This roman á clef is infected with pop sensibility and post-punk chivalry. Formed through common interests and chance encounters, the group immediately clicked and went into the studio within a month of their first practice; finishing songs as they went along, they leaned heavily on producer Ed Ackerson (Polara, The Jayhawks, Faux Jean) for sonic inspiration. By day the band honed their indie rock sound behind the microphone, and by night they were lighting up the town to inspire their next batch of tracks. The Twin City groups live performances are a throwback to 80s new wave, dead-set on catching you up in their contagious melodies and getting the crowd to close down the bar with the songs stuck in their heads. Ready to share their exploits, The Blinds have a swagger all their own and a sound bent on making the most of the moment.
Hey Yo Hey Yo! Thanks for putting on an awsome show last night! Once again, we had a great time playing with you guys. Rogers and the Showcase Sk8park will never be the same...
