Ich (Jg. 1990) startete mit 10 meine Saxophonkarriere, wenn man das so nennen darf. Ersten Kontakt mit dem Horn hatte ich bei Stefan Christinger an der Steckborner Musikschule. Ich kann mich noch genau an die Musikalischen Mosaike der Schule erinnern. Auf jeden Fall spielte ich damals schon in dem Saxquartett der Musikschule und in einer Band, welche eher in Richtung Rock, Reggae und Ska einschlug. Dann ging es hinunter mit mir, was soviel heissen soll wie: Ich ging für ein halbes Jahr nach Neuseeland.
Dort folgte Unterricht an einem College (Northcote College) und ich durfte auch in der Big Band der Schule spielen (2. Altsax). Diese Big Band hat in Neuseeland übrigens jetzt schon das ungefähr 6. Mal einen Nationalen Wettbewerb gewonnen. Respect!
Zurück in der Schweiz, gings ab ans Semi (oder an die PMS Kreuzlingen), wo ich in die K&S Klasse gehen kann. Saxunterricht habe ich jetzt bei Roman Weissert in Winterthur. Klavier bei Michael Bohland und Musiktheorie und Gesang bei Dieter Jordi. Ich bin momentan im zweiten Jahr des Semis und werde meine Matur hoffentlich bald haben. Nachher sollte ich (sofern es für die praktische Prüfung an der ZHdK auch noch reicht) in ein Studium an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste mit dem Profil Jazz einsteigen. Dank der K&S Klasse habe ich die Möglichkeit nach dem Semi direkt in das zweite Jahr des Bachelor-Studiums einzutreten.
Was danach geschieht weiss ich auch noch nicht. Hoffe es wird lustig und interressant. Cheers Benjamin
