GEOFF PEARSON - electric mandolin, mandola and guitar: has a long history in ceilidh dance music, and has an innovative style with tune sets (thats the polite way of putting it). Geoff is the musical director of the band. He has worked previously with various bands, including Drops of Brandy, the Waggoners and Blackstuff.

NEIL HART - terrific bass guitar and acoustic guitar: a diverse background in folk music, originally a club soloist, and including long standing club duo work with fiddler Suzy and extensive ceilidh work with the Stranton Band, Drops of Brandy and the Waggoners. Also a top class sound man who can fix anything!

SUZY CRAWFORD - amazing vocals and fiddle: contemporary song with passion and some wonderful harmonies with the fiddle. She provides the glamour in the band (obviously!!).

MARTYN CRESSWELL - guitar and vocals: powerful guitar which with Neil gives the band its powerhouse drive, and vocalising anything from Irish trad to current chart material. Before joining Blind Stag recently, Martyn worked with various bands including Stranton Band, Castlegate, Hoolichan, Reformation and ran his own band Blackstuff. He looks after the bookings diary most of the time.

But not just a ceilidh band. We do Irish, Scottish and even (once) a French night. Too many weddings and birthdays to remember and even a wake!
Most venues suitable - all we need is a plug and a willing crowd!
Our regular caller (the bloke who tells you what to do and where to go) is Brian Padgett, who worked for many years with the Waggoners, and who leads the Stockton Morris Men and teaches folk dance and line dancing.
The band is augmented on occasions with guest callers, including Dave Turner, Ron Marshall and Jacky Walton.

On rare occasions Geoff's wife Linda plays dulcimer and Geoff and Linda make occasional guest appearances as a duo.

The caller comes as part of the package with the band. We are willing to travel around the North East and Yorkshire, and although we have played as far away as Worcestershire and Nottingham. We can be seen regularly at various functions at the Black Sheep Brewery at Masham. Much of our work is private weddings, birthdays and other similar functions, but we do have public ceilidhs regularly. See the "upcoming shows" section for details.

In addition to ceilidhs we can offer specialist singing and concert nights including Burns Nights, Nautical Nights (shanties, Trafalgar etc), Irish evenings and parties. We also do folk clubs and festivals when available.
