TURBO JAM/KICK, Animals/Pets, traveling (I have been to many states, Mexico, England, Wales, Norway, Canada, Brazil) I love spending time with friends, family, listening to music, watching movies, going to the beach, karaoke. I like to play softball, basketball, racquetball and tennis. I'd much rather play a sport than watch others play. I am not a club/bar person but I love to see live bands. I also love to listen to comedians, volunteer work and helping others. If I win the lotto, I would quit my job, travel all over the country and world- then when I got home I would do volunteer work for both people and animals.

  • Heroes

My mom 1933-1977!!!!!! Some people do not have a good mom for a minute. I was lucky to have one for almost 9 years. My father- some people go through life without one good parent. While I lost my mom, I had my dad-who unconditionally loved and supported me no matter what! Sadly he passed December 25, 07 and I miss him terribly but he is with me in spirit.

A huge hero is Chalene Johnson-she has shown the world that exercise can be FUN- and she's just one of the smartest, most real people I know- My other heros are all of those who support my fitness/weight release journey- I love you- yes exercise can be FUN and does not have to equate to torture! My heroes are not those who are famous- but those who make a difference in everyone's life- those who put their lives down for others.

About me:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I am 39 and from Bensalem, PA- right outside of Philly. I've had a very interesting 2 years- from graduating from Penn and getting my MSW, to losing 125 pounds, getting rid of diabetes, high cholesterol and sleep apnea-winning the MDB contest- 10,000 dollars, getting to know Chalene Johnson and her crew and MANY amazing new people who have supported me on my journey. My journey started in 2006- 2 weeks after my graduation- I ended up in the hospital w/ diabetic ketoacidosis- and saw Chalene's Turbo Jam infomercial, bought it- 2 months later went to Orange County to meet her- and met not only her and her crew, but some people who have turned out to be the best friends anyone could have.

The good news is that I completely got rid of diabetes- ALL of it- after being told I'd never be off insulin by the docs. I also got rid of high cholesterol and no sleep apnea. I also got rid of 126 freaking pounds and the strongest physically and mentally I've been my whole adult life.

Some things have been challenging but for the most part the ride has been a great one! I was so excited to have won the November 2007 MDB 10,000 dollar grand prize contest. I still want to release around 30-35 pounds. I am a certified Turbo Kick instructor and also a fitness coach with Million Dollar Body www.milliondollarbody.com/turbomer I am doing weight watchers but honestly am getting a bit bored with the meetings. I do , however, believe it's the BEST program out there. Yes I EAT carbs, so I am proof that you can eat carbs and still release weight.

When I am not turbo kicking, I sometimes dabble into P90X- though haven't gotten through 90 full days- lol- I also go to the gym to switch things up, do strength training, bootcamp, spin and body pump classes. I also love to travel, movies, music, internet geek, reading, museums, talking to others about everything and anything is so much fun too!

When I am not exercising, I am a geriatric social worker in Philadelphia and have been in this field for over 16 years. I have seen everything and nothing shocks me. I have 2 cats, Blinky and Turbo- whom I've rescued during social work field visits. Blinky came from West Philly- was hit by a car and starving to death due to a broken jaw and an infected eye. I got him fixed up and he's the most CHILL cat you'd ever meet- Then there's Turbo- I found him less than a year later- 2 weeks after I got out of the hospital in 06. Turbo was 2 weeks old, 1/2 a pound and 1/2 dead. He had an eye infection too- both of my cats have onlyy one eye (No I don't run a shelter for 1 eyed cats ,lol) and Turbo is a little maniac- a total love bug who I had to bottle feed but he's so healthy and big now. Anyone who thinks that cats are aloof haven't met mine!

I don't have my own kids but have nieces and nephews whom I adore and always will. My friends and family are important to me. Politically, I am very liberal and believe in equality for ALL... not just a select fortunate few. It saddens me how we care more about American Idol contestants than the REAL heroes in the military who are risking their lives-part of SUPPORTING the troops is making sure they have proper health care and emotional counseling when they come back to civilian life- not just supporting them when they look all buff in their uniforms- but supporting them when if come back with missing body parts and alcohol and mental health problems.

I believe that money does not buy happiness- and neither does being thin. I think happiness comes from inside of our hearts and our souls, that like attracts like- and that we are put here to make a difference in this world and that we have to strive to become the best people we can be.

Who I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is socially conscious, loves Turbo Jam/Kick as much as I do, gym rats, someone who is fun and intelligent. Honest is always great, as are those persons who can make me laugh and people who "get" me! I'm always up for new friends with great energy and good souls!

Hi! Guess what I heard on the news tonight? That maybe the city is going to be wacky tomorrow with the storm and the snowplows, so parking will be at a premium. They even suggested that if you work in the city you might want to consider taking off. Te he he.
Can I get a woo woo?!
