RALPH SKUBAN (Vocals, Guitars, Ukulele, Stomp) & WALTER ZAEH (Vocals, Bass, Harmonica, Stomp). Ralph Skuban & Walter Zäh share the same stages for 20 years now. Well, we know each other and his way of grooving. Both of us we have a passion for our resonator instruments. They sparkle and gleam but most of all: They sound gorgious! Sound is the music's soul and Bliss'n'Blue has lots of it.
Influences
Sounds Like
‚Coming together as a duo after decades of playing in bands, Bliss 'n' Blue's CD Keep on Walking preserves a band's instinct to drive a room and rock the house. Using traditional instruments, (resonator guitars and basses, ukulele, mandolin, harp, and stompbox), provides a texture that supports profound lyrics, original and emotionally dead on. The songs tell of the complex feelings that come up in relationships, the crosscut saw that makes life and love such an enjoyable pain in the ass! The phrase Bliss'n‘Blue says it all. These guys have been around the block musically and emotionally. There are echoes of many different country's roots musical traditions in this collection.‘ - Curtis Blues, USA
My new live album "Tempo, musique pour calcaire et guitares" (music for limestone and slide guitars from a live concert in duet with Franck Kernel, stone carver) will be available for may 2009. I'm really happy with this project. You can watch a video (the last song of this 6 hours long work with interview) from this show here
