Well lets see, where should I start, Ever since I was a kid, I grew up with music and video games heavily being influenced around me. From singing songs, my father playing the guitar, radio stations, experiencing the changes of 80's to 90's and now this era of music.
Since games were a big influence on me, I really took great consideration toward the music the composers created for video games. It's just a special moment when a song matches a scene for a game.
As I turned 9, I became more aware of the aspect of seeing music being created. My Father use to record songs using a computer, mixer, guitar synthesis, etc.. I've tried messing around with those programs and surprisingly I just got hooked into it. I took up some guitar lessons from my father but, it didn't go so well. I was having a very hard time figuring out theory, sheet music and let alone getting use to the feel of the guitar. I wasn't musically dedicated yet to learn the instrument. I pretty much gave up on it.
So years passed by. Anime was having a big influence on me with the introduction of J-Pop genre. It was definitely a new music experience since I've never heard the same style as that before. Then came the game series that really made me decide that I wanted to learn music. Final Fantasy series and Final Fantasy X-2 Eternity Memory Of Lightwaves were the biggest influences for me to start learning music again. My Father and one of my closest friends convinced me to try out the Piano. I started Piano Lessons from Rene Garcia. I told him I was a complete noob. We first started on the C scale to some easy classical and some salsa riffs and I just picked up on it right away. So I took the choice and bought my very first playable keyboard. My keyboard was a Casio wk-3500. The very first day I got it, it was kind of exciting actually. I was able to play some songs by ear even though I didn't know what I was doing yet. So I thought to myself maybe I could really learn.
So as my Piano lessons were coming along great I would always bring sheet music from Final Fantasy games so he could teach me techniques on how to play it right. I've studied under him for 1 year. After the year passed, I felt it was time that I could learn on my own. So I moved on.
Eventually learning on my own has payed off but with strong dedication to take it more seriously. I've gotten more open minded to more genre's of music. So this present day I now currently own a Yamaha Motif Rack Es, Yamaha P60 Digital piano. I'm happy and very satisfied on how far I've come.
Check out my gear. My personal favorite Keyboard Synth is the Yamaha Motif Rack Es. My Yamaha P60 is great for Piano action, probably the best weighted hammer action keyboard I've used.
