Hamburg producer Block Barley comes with his first vinyl release on his own label WE AINT MUSIC. This record is the follow up to his critically acclaimed album „Dead at the Control“ which was released by Hong Kong recordings in 2007.
Block Barley once again delivers avant-instrumental-hiphop to the fullest and he ..s taking the next logical step forward on his evolutionary beat sciences. The EP..s wide-ranging sonic palette is a natural result of combining analogue oldschool drum machines with obscure samples and some digital goodies.
For the EP..s title track „Michigan Nights“ he teams up with Detroits MC heavyweight and ex-Dilla protege Guilty Simpson (Stonesthrow records) to create some classic material. This song is also featured on the Audio CD of Germanys biggest HipHop magazine JUICE, issue july 08.
From heavy drums and deep basslines to soulful melodies and disturbing noises – it..s all there.

Founded in Hamburg in 2008, WE AINT pushes the boundaries of adventurous music to establish a plattform for a diverse range of musical styles: From gritty drum loops to futuristic, synthed –up sounds.
The label is run and operated by Sascha Hohn aka Block Barley and Andreas Sticken aka Hysteria from Hamburg, Germany who already released on DJ Vadims infamous Jazz Fudge recordings. Andreas was also a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle in 2005 and is since then working for the RBMA.
WE AINT focusses on strictly limited vinyl releases with elaborate, handmade packaging which makes every single cover become a truly unique print. WE AINT is bringing it all back home: an analogue shakedown in a digital world.

For this release we teamed up with top producer Jr. Blender and created a classical dancehall reggae riddim that is a link between the apart drifting genres Dancehall and Reggae.
The production has 14 Tracks and features some household names such as Gentleman, Luciano, Louie Culture, Lady G as well as newcomers as Nkulee Dube, the daughter of Reggae legend Lucky Dube, who performs her first Reggaesong on the Aspire riddim.
The Riddim Selection is available digitally at Itunes, Finetunes and all other relevant platforms. The limited 7“ Vinyls are distributed by Soundquake.com.
