Bio
Blood of the Tyrant is a metal quartet from Chicago that strikes a perfect balance between earth-shaking heaviness and elegant technical finesse. Drawing upon a wide array of influences that includes Meshuggah, Black Sabbath, Neurosis and Goblin, Blood of the Tyrant seamlessly combines the drama and melodic intuition of traditional heavy metal with the crushing brutality of the vibrant modern metal scene. Intricate guitar harmonies sit comfortably alongside plodding, doom-laden riffage and chaotic bursts of hardcore-inspired fury, and songs are carefully arranged to have a severe and lasting emotional impact. A maelstrom of progressive and metallic textures, Blood of the Tyrant is not to be missed. For fans of Mastodon, Baroness, Isis, High on Fire, Zombi and Black Sabbath. ...... .. "Crunchy tones, crisp drums, tumbling fills, proggy sludge. For the many that miss Remission-era Mastodon, this is the next best thing.".. -Decibel, Sep. 09.... "I’m not sure exactly how Chicago suddenly became the metal capital of America, but I’m not going to complain. I like having a metal-themed burger place, a metal-only venue, and bands covering the whole spectrum from thrash to black to avant right in my backyard. Lately I’ve been especially psyched about Blood of the Tyrant, a local quartet with a sound about as heavy as a building demolition. Their new self-titled, self-released album is a stoney, wicked collection of killer riffs, deep-ass grooves, and long instrumental stretches that are creepy enough to justify the Goblin name-check on their MySpace page. If they keep it up they could get a permanent spot on the Kuma’s menu. .. —Miles Raymer.. Chicago Reader".... "This is defnitely a band to watch. Mean riffs and gut punch arrangements with a few tricks here and there to keep things interesting, and that's A-OK in my book.".. -Andy "Dinger" Beresky.. StonerRock.com.... "One of the tightest and most innovative bands from the Chicago scene, Blood of the Tyrant, is set to conquer the midwest. Blood of the Tyrant has established themselves as the biggest name in progressive metal within the city of Chicago.".. Nominated for "Best Metal Newcomer of 2009," "Best Live Performance of 2009".. -Metal Underground.... "Its hard to put a tag on a band like this with so many varied musical styles all interwoven into the one band, they cross prog-metal and sludgy doom but do it with the intensity of a balls and all metal band complete with roaring metal vocals. They have some killer riffs but with some real surprises in the arrangement department. A very interesting band that should have a big future in front of them, check them out." 9/10.. -Doommantia.... "It isn't often that a debut EP offers such a fresh perspective on an old style, but Blood of the Tyrant have done just that. Call it Stoner Death or Doom Grind, but the mish mash of intricate prog-metal and sludgy doom combined with the roar of the vocals sounds fresh and on time. Holy shit this is good stuff!" .. -Heavy Planet.... "There is something utterly classic, purely heavy metal and totally epic about Blood of the Tyrant." .. -Deaf Sparrow.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .......... .. ..Visit our store for merchandise.... Hi Blood of the Tyrant. EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs make its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out! Thanks a lot for the attention and support. Keep in touch.
