Music
I carry my burden
to the river's edge
and kneeling, pour my sorrows
into its rippling murk.
Flashing waters swallow
my offering whole
with no hint of hesitation,
no judgement for my failings.
I rise, raw and clean,
and watch the rolling muddy green
bear away my shame in a rush to the sea.
A warm and tender breeze
caresses my face,
drying my tears,
and I hear.
The river sings
its ancient song
of life and death
and hope,
of every season,
of every sunrise,
and every passing storm. . .
Still,
I stand
and listen long
to the soft and intricate
harmonies.
The river sings
its ancient song. . .
and
deep
I drink.

"Some people say we are mostly water, I say we are mostly dreams." S.A. Griffin
Just wanted to say thanks for being a real friend of mine on Myspace. If you have any poetry or know a really great poet that you like - let me know - i'm always looking for new poetry & poets to feature on 10K Poets.
Early morning the fog drifting as if looking for a place to hide, as a new day comes to life. A good time to think of the things to come. All things become more clear as time passes .
