Cynthia Conrad (lead vocals) is undoubtedly the author of the Blood Ruby experience. Her lyrical, sweet mezzo is stunning in its range and technique. Cynthia's study of music and voice is evident in her melodic songwriting, while her background as a poet and student of literature inform her haunting and intelligent lyrics.
Margaret Browning (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards) is a major creative force in Blood Ruby. Layered in backing tracks and occasionally as lead, her smoky, jazz-rooted alto is dark and rich with harmonics and emotion. Her bass playing provides a solid foundation as well as a melodic signature, while her guitar playing contributes delicate fingerpicked arpeggios and memorable solos to many of the songs.
Thomas Wall (guitar, bass, keyboards, programming, engineering) is the architect of the Blood Ruby sound, bringing spaciousness and a layered quality to the presentation. As an instrumentalist, his key contribution is perhaps the band's signature guitar sound, full of swirling, shimmering, kaleidoscopic tones.
Dream Pop is a subgenre of post-punk alternative rock usually featuring atmospheric soundscapes; pedal-processed sonic textures; pop-oriented melodies; and introspective, existential lyrics. This MySpace group is a place for dreampop bands and fans to network and discover new music.

The Blood Ruby Sound
Blood Ruby creates atmospheric alternative music somewhere in the vein of dream pop, ethereal, and neoprogressive rock. The band's two subtly emotive female vocalists ply a range that spans from lyrical, sweet mezzo, to smoky, jazz-rooted alto, delivering haunting melodies and crafted lyrics full of evocative imagery and cinematic storytelling. Spacious mixing and production lend prismatic detail to the music's lush instrumentation.
The result is a textured, layered sound that takes listeners on an ambient, often dark, and sometimes epic journey through drifting landscapes of emotion, strange places, and complex characters.
