A unique initiative that sees the festival working in conjunction with local venues up and the down the country, taking to the grass roots of gigging in order to discover their finest local bands and giving one from each the chance of an esteemed slot at the festival.

As well as taking to the streets, we also love hearing from bands interested in playing the festival and actively encourage Unsigned bands to get in touch, send in their promo packs etc and we do listen to each and every one but of course only so many can play each year!

Established in 2001, Bloodstock has progressed over the years from its humble beginnings as a one day event at the festivals spiritual home of the Derby Assembly Rooms to what we have today, a three day Outdoor full on metal extravaganza featuring the best of signed and unsigned international bands.
